Select your i-phone ringtone for FREE

When the first time I bought i-phone few months ago, I was quite annoyed with the fact that I was unable to change its ringtone. Wherever I go, I keep listening to the same ringtone as mine because everyone is using the same phone. Yearh, Singaporean loves i-phone and Indonesian loves blackberry. Haha! If you have the same problem as me, you don't have to worry about it anymore. Prepare your tools and you can just modify it on your own without single cents. Let's cut the crap and follow the below instructions carefully to modify your ringtone on i-phone. Basically, you will need iTunes and your favourite songs. Does it sound simple for you?

Step 1

First of all you have to ensure that you're allowed to change the type of the music.
*Go to "Control Panel"
*Select "Appearance and Personalization"
*Click on "Folder Options"
*Click on "View" tab
*Ensure the box of "Hide extensions for known file types" is unselected (very important to carry on the rest of the instructions at step)

Step 2

Open iTunes.

Step 3

Find the song that you want to make into a ringtone.

Step 4

Listen to the song and find the part of it you want to use. The chorus may be a good place to start.

Step 5

Write down the start and stop times of the clip.

Step 6

Right-click the song and select "Get Info."

Step 7

Click the "Options" tab.

Step 8

Type in the start time of your ringtone in the text box next to "Start Time" in the minutes:seconds (i.e., 2:01) format.

Step 9

Type in the end time of your ringtone in the text box next to "Stop Time." Make sure the ringtone is no more than 40 seconds long.

Step 10

Click "OK."

Step 11

Right-click your song again and select "Convert Selection to AAC." Wait for iTunes to convert your song. It will create a duplicate version.

Step 12

Right-click the ringtone and select "Delete."

Step 13

Click on the "Keep Files" button.

Step 14

Find the file. It's usually in your User folder under "Music > iTunes > iTunes Music" and under the band's name. It will have an extension of m4a.

Step 15

Replace the m4a extension of your ringtone with m4r. You can either double-click slowly to rename your file, or right-click and select "Get Info" on a Mac or "Rename" on a Windows PC.

Step 16

Click "Use .m4r" or the PC equivalent when the system warns you that the change may affect the use of your file.

Step 17

Double-click the ringtone file. ITunes will automatically add it to your ringtones folder in your iTunes Music Library.

Step 18

Change back the "Start Time" and "Stop Time" to avoid the real song played at certain time.

Step 19

Connect your iPhone and sync your ringtones.

It's Time to Take a Rest

I'm back!! Almost forgot the username and password to log on Blogger as I had abandoned my own blog for quite some time. And finally I decided to update it. Thanks to Irene, who left a message on my chatting board, asking me to update. Hahaha!

As what mentioned on the title, I've been taking a good rest lately, but not because I want to. It's because Singapore is cruel for some reasons. The story began last year when ICA distributed Singapore Permanent Resident invitation letter to some of the students in my campus randomly. Thinking that ICA would distribute the letter to everyone like what they did to previous batch DHTB 7, making me stay calm without worries.

Who knows that the letter would become very important to my life? I desperately finding many ways to obtain the letter but to no avail. ICA kept telling me that only company can help to apply employment pass for me in order to get PR. And now, I'm still waiting for it and have to stop working due to my expired student pass.

Instead of quitely sitting on my chair and facing laptop day by day, I've been very active to look for a room in which I'm going to stay with my Indonesian buddy, Henny. Last few days ago, also went to main campus, TP, to collect graduation attire. And soon, I'll be going to Hong Kong, using my own savings (proud)!! It's a 6D/5N trip to Hong Kong and Shen Zhen.

Fall under the spell of Samsung ST550

I initially knew nothing about Samsung ST550 until my friend, Evelyn, bought it. Yearh, I'm a kind of old-fashioned teenager, isn't it? For those who do not know what it is, let me tell you! o(^o^)o Samsung ST550 is the first and new model camera with front and rear LCD screen. It allows you to take self-portraits perfectly with 12.2 mega pixel. Apparently, there is one more product that has similar features as ST 550, called ST500 and it is also released by Samsung. The difference between these two cameras is the resolution. ST 550 has 3.5 wide touch screen LCD, meanwhile ST 500 has 3.0 wide touch screen LCD. There is no doubt that ST 550 is better than ST 500 and because of it, ST 550 is sold at higher price compared to ST 500. Does it sound amazing? No? Okay, I believe that you can search information of this stlylish product on your own, I just cut the crap by showing you more convincing reasons on why you should buy this camera too! Ouch. . .Sounds like an evil! Anyway, enjoy the video!

So, I'm no longer worried about taking self-portraits using my Samsung Jet S8003 which often cut my head as I can rely on my new ST550 orange! Yes, I finally decided to buy it today at Sim Lim Square after being hesitating for so many days. Before that, I really had unpleasant experiences to negotiate the price with the staff at both Funan and Sim Lim Square. Some of them obviously had no manners, no marketing efforts shown to sell their products, no product knowledge about the availability of their products, no skills to deceive me by taking away the original samsung pouch that supposed to be included in the carrier bag and so on! The most unaccepted behaviour that they did to me was saying "mei you huo le (no stock anymore)!" I heard that sentence for many times after we had agreed on the price. Come on, I spent quite some time to talk with them about the price and they just said "no stock anymore" easily. Once I heard that, I really showed my black face and just went off and I didn't bother to talk with them. What's the use of continuing our conversations? Am I mean? Well. . .you can imagine that my boyfriend and I spent half-day looking for the best price and we finally thought that we could buy it immediately, no more walking and negotiating. But. . .that kind of thought suddenly dashed off and replaced with an idea to whack the staff the moment they told me "no stock anymore!!!" If you were me, what would you do? But now, I'm extremely happy that I almost forget about those unpleasant experiences. Hohohoho. . .

It has been a very long time I never update my blog. Why? Because I'm too lazy and tired. I have to study from Monday to Friday and work on Saturday. As for Sunday, Sunday I leave it for doing assignments and projects. Thus, a lot of things happened in the past 2 months that I'm so eager to share here but I have no idea from where to begin the story. So just forget about it! Haha!

Last Wednesday, Irene brought a magazine to the class. And since I was sitting beside her, I was a little bit "kaypoh" to find out what kind of magazine she brought. Surprisingly, it was a kind of promotion of buying a bucket of flowers!! And that reminded me of Valentine! Yearh! Valentine Day is coming soon and happen on the same day with Chinese New Year!! I can't believe it! Parents are coming to Singapore to celebrate Chinese New Year with me and boyfriend also wants to spend a day with me on Valentine. But I've got a solution to overcome it. I'll spend half day with parents in the morning and half day with boyfriend in evening. Hahaha! Pretty smart, isn't it? Well. . .You better say yes!

So back to the topic! I found what I want inside the magazine. I never thought that flowers can be a memo too. What a creative way!

Celebrating great B'day with great people!!

I'm back with great stories to share!!! I have no intention to neglect my blog but I barely find some time to update it as my internship is still going on. . .

29 November is my birthday and it was my second time having it in Singapore. I had my birthday parties for 4 times with my family, boyfriend, buddies and colleagues on different dates. Though i spent a lot of money using my salary, i think it's worth to do so.

I kept telling myself that being 20 wans't that bad. As people get older, they will become more mature and independent. Below are the activities that I had done to celebrate my birthday:

With Family
I woke up early in the morning to accompany my mother to Ang Mo Kio Hub and we proceeded to Redhill to have lunch at a Cantonese Restaurant. The place is quite far from the MRT station and since I was too hungry, I forgot to take photos with my family. Haha!!

With Boyfriend
Being a good daughter and a good girlfriend at the same time is quite tough because you need time management skills to ensure both relationships are in balance. At night, I met my boyfriend to enjoy a sumptuous dinner at Jumbo Clarke Quay. The chilli crab was so delicious and mouth-watering!! He gave me a korean necklace that I saw at Far East Mall when I was shopping with him. Hmm. . .So observant!

A week after my birthday had passed, I treated my buddies (Evelyn, Hendra, Henny, Martina and Mediaty) for a dinner at Mr.Curry, Clarke Quay, which is my ex-workplace. We went to take photos with Christmas tree at Central and Bugis, but none of the photos were successful, it was either the christmas tree couldn't be seen or the photographers took lousy pictures. So after several attempts to take proper pictures and felt annoyed, we decided to take neoprints.

With Colleagues
It was first time having birthday party with my colleagues (Bee Yann, Hidayah,Liu Liu and Wan Jun) from Ops Base. I treated them for a dinner at Pasta Mania Bugis. We ordered a lot of food and managed to finish them up before heading to neoprints shop.

Last but not least, I finally bought a new phone to replace my LG KU990 Viewty with Samsung Jet. I will never purchase any mobile phones launched by LG anymore!!!

Addicted to McDonald's Monopoly

I'm seriously oudated!! Never found out that McDonald has been doing its Monopoly promotion since one month ago. I just knew it today when I had my dinner with JX at McDonald's Liang Court. Honestly speaking, I seldom to go to McDonald because the menu is not appealing compared to KFC. But from today onwards, I guess I will frequently dine at McDonald to collect the game pieces. Hohoho. . .What a good marketing plan!

So today I ordered an upsized McSpicy as JX asked me to do so. He then explained to me that we could get more game pieces if we ordered upsized meals. The first thing when we sat down was not eating as we were so busy to paste the game pieces on the gameboard. Haha!

We were so addicted to the Monopoly until crazy! I teased him to take the game pieces left by a foreigner couple on the table and I never thought that he would really take them!! There was one guy who was sitting besides us witness his action and I was too embarrassed that I covered my face. It was a great experience though!! Haha!

USS Life

Like what I mentioned before, I just started my SIP at Universal Studios Singapore (USS). Things get better and better as I don't have to eat lunch alone and I get more tasks to do. Hehe. . .Happy me!! My classmates just joined the company too. In a nutshell, I'm not alone anymore!! Yuhu~~~ Last Wednesday, I was invited to attend our company's bowling activity at Superbowl, Marina Square.

The company invited all of the members of Team Park Operations Department. We departed from our Site Office at 6 pm and we were provided with a direct bus to Marina Square. And guess what? We played and had our dinner there for free!! It was realy fun though I didin't play well. Haha! I felt sorry to my members (Karen, Nicholas, Angela and Erica). I was considered as an amateur because that was my second time playing bowling. But surprisingly, out of 5 members, I could beat the other two members. Hoho!! I was really scared when my senior colleague, Nelson, mentioned that there would be a prize for the lousiest team!! Luckily, my team was not the one. There was a funny thing happened during the game. When Nicholas had his turn to play, the monitor didin't work out and thus, he and I were counted to have "strike". Our last lane (18) had a lot of issues that caused us to be the last team finishing our games. And now. . .I'm so addicted to bowling. . .Haha! What made me upset is, I didin't get chance to take some photos as my handphone battery was low.

I ate lunch by myself in these 2 days in the Site Office. Hate this kind of feeling as I looked pathetic. My 5 schoolmates, who will be working in the same company with me, have not started their internship yet. In a nutshell, nobody accompanied me. JX will start to work as a full-time employee from 22nd of September onwards. While my schoolmates will accompany me on next Tuesday. So, I must endure a bit until they come.

On the first day, I was supposed to report in the office at 8.30 am but I had already arrived at Harbour Front at 7 am as I thought the shuttle bus from Harbour Front to Site Office would only come at 7.30 and 7.45 am. Once I reached there, I wandered around to look for my department, which is located at Block A. Luckily, a man came to approach me to offer direction and asked me to wait the rest of the new employees in the meeting room. He is actually Mr.Kim Hwee, who is in charge of training new staffs. Another guy appeared and asked me to join him for breakfast but I refused as I had my breakfast at home. He then left and came back again in another 5 minutes, asking me to join him in the canteen with another female staff. They are Alvin and Wendy from Attraction Department. After having free orange juice provided in the canteen, I went to the orientation room. All of the new staffs have known one another as they were told to go for orientation two days before I came in. I had no idea why I wasn't told about it. Hmm. . .Perhaps because we work in differet deparments. I am the only one who works in Admin Department, while the rest work in Attraction and Wardrobe Deparments. Ckckck. . .There, I have no permanent desk in the office, so I have to move from one desk to another desk. And I just realised that my current desk is located near the top management. I became nervous and under pressure!!!

In these few days, I didin't work much as I was given a lot of things to read such as Standard Operating Procedures and General Operating Procedures. And guess what? Those things consist of over 300 pages!!! I kept reading until I had headache. Apart from that, I enjoyed yesterday's dinner with JX' colleagues or so called "family in the company". They brought so much laughter for me. . .Thanks Eunice, Vincent, Kerene and Hui Juan (Ta Dou)!!! Last but not least, special thanks for JX, who still accompanied me to go dinner with them even though his grandma just passed away yesterday. Hope you will rest in peace, JX's grandma. . .

Overall, I really like the working environment and I will not regret as this is my chosen path. I am proud to be one of the staffs there even though I am just an intern. And I'm expecting the opening of Universal Studio Singapore, as it will be very awesome, based on what I have heard during orientation.

Jessie's Farewell Parties

My SIP (Student Internship Program) will officially start from tomorrow onwards. The feeling of nervous, excited and afraid all come together as the day is getting nearer. I don't want to look like a dumb, sitting in the office quietly with no tasks. But for sure, it will happen tomorrow as I am not familiar with the environment and need some time to adapt. Hopefully, I will be able to give my best so that I can continue to work there as a full-time employee. Ok! Enough about that. I am so eager to share my wonderful memories that I spent with my buddies recently. Since my best buddy, Jessie, is going to China to comply her SIP tomorrow morning, we held several parties in Singapore and Batam.

First of all, we spent our whole day singing at K-BOX from around 3pm to 7pm. We sang many songs regardless of language from Indonesian, Chinese, English, Korean, Japanese and Cantonoese. Then we proceed to have our dinner at Indonesian Restaurant and went for short shopping.

And guess what? We actually almost made a headline in the newspaper titled "Youngsters stuck on the middle of the road while crossing the road." We did not realise that the lamp turned red all of a sudden and we had to stand in the middle of the road. But Irene and I were the most unlucky ones. When a bus made a U-Turn, we felt our foot were burned into fire!!! The machine from the bottom of the bus was totally HOT!!! And yes, we screamed without realising that we still in the middle of the road.

Second, I asked my buddies to gather and have a last meal with Jessie before she went to China. We were supposed to meet at Vivo City at 11.30 pm. But Indonesian are still Indonesian. Wherever they go, they still keep the culture of being late!! Haha! So Jessie and I ended up waiting for them until 12 pm (only 2 people showed up though, the other 3 people were still missing). After lunch, we walked quite fast to the monorail to attend SIP Briefing at our campus. The last row of the lecture room was occupied by Indonesian. Haha! We were so "kiasu." When I was listening to my lecturer, my mom kept calling me like I was a debtor. She forgot I would end up my class at 5.15 pm and she booked my ferry ticket at 5.30 pm. So I had to run all the way from my campus to Imbiah Station to catch the monorail and run again from Vivo City to Harbour Front. Usually, a normal person needs about 20 minutes to do so, but I managed to break the record by using about 10 minutes.

The male staffs of the restaurant was so funny. When he returned me back my handphone, he said in Chinese : "If you are not satisfied. . . . . ." Notice that? He didin't finish his sentence. And we were all puzzled.

Last but not least, when we all returned to Batam, we had our lunch together at Golden Prawn 555, which is famous for its seafood in the island. Again, some of my buddies were late. So I didn't have much time to shop at BCS Mall with them after lunch.

These days I spent my holiday in Batam meaninglessly. Nothing much to do as something was wrong with the computer. Thus, I could not use internet. Tomorrow is going to be a sad day for me beacuse I'm going to receive my result via sms. Arggghhh~~~ I have been forcing myself to think positively. Hmm. . .nothing can be done after all, so i have to pray.

I'm seriously doomed!!

I have been enjoying my holiday too much that I didin't realise spending $500 in these few days. In addition, that amount belongs to my mom's account. Haha! That's why I said "I'm seriously doomed!!" It was so embarrassing when I could not use my ATM card to pay a $90 clothes and my buddy helped me to pay it. At first, we thought there was a problem with the line as we were told so by the previous shop's owner. Little bit I began to suspect that the amount was insufficient. And I was correct!! Congarutale me~~~ Hahaha~~

I'm going to admit this matter to my mom when I arrive in Batam. Sooner or later, she will find out anyway. . .Besides, I'm planning to use my first month salary to compensate the $500 taken from my mom's account. I guess I would feel better in that way. . .

So, what did I spend my money on?? Of course mostly on clothes!! I bought 4 clothes, 1 stocking and 1 sunglasses today. I am fully aware that I must kick my bad habit to buy clothes as my wardrobe is going to explode soon. But I just could not stop myself! Haha! I love clothes!

Now let's talk about customer service a little bit. I have been living in Singapore for 1.5 years and I am totally disappointed with Singaporeans' attitude when they have to deal with customers. I just can not stand the way they talk, communicate and treat their customers. They just think highly of themselves and forget about the importance of building long-term relationship with customers. No customers, no business!!! They should bear that in their mind. I often experience this kind of low service when I dine with JX and my buddies at restaurants as well as buy clothes at Far East Plaza.

Today, I experienced it for twice! I was having lunch with Jessie at Amoba Ramen located at ION Orchard Mall (not sure whether the name is correct since I had bad impression with one of the staffs) and we made an order with a chinese female staff. I asked her what the ingredient of the ramen was. She did reply me but I thought it was pork. So I asked again whether it was pork. And she thought I was DEAF!! She replied me loudly with a firm tone, saying S-C-A-L-L-O-P!! I swear that I won't return to that horrible place again.

Second, I went to shop at Far East. The shop owner treated me nicely and asked me to try on the clothes. But the moment I refuse to buy it, she left without a word like a ghost. This is really a contrast compared to what I had experienced in Sydney. The ladyboss was so friendly. Even though I did not buy, she still thanked me for visiting her shop and asked me to come back again next time. Singapore likes to boast about their customer service, but why this kind of thing always happen?

My short-term planning for holiday

Yuhuuu~~ I have several things to announce!!

First, I had finished my final tests and the result will come out via sms on 9th September, which is my first day working at Resort World in Administration Department. This semester was very tough and it is very hard to maintain my current GPA. Thus, I have to lower down my expectation, hoping that I will pass all the subjects, especially Lodging and Economy.

Second, I will be going back to Batam Island on 4th until 8th September as I seldom to go back and I have to renew my Indonesian passport.

Third, I will be going to Genting and Kuala Lumpur on 27th December until 1st January with my 10 family members. I have been eager to visit Genting for second time as I like the weather. Yeay~~

I am going to spend my days with JX and my buddies before going back to Batam in these few days. Lots of activities will take place such as watching movie, singing, shopping and prawning!! Haha!!

I went shopping with Jessie right after the final test yesterday. We went to Bugis for dinner at MOF Japanese Restaurant , shopping and taking neoprint until 10pm.

Today, I went to watch a korean movie titled "Scandal Maker" with JX. The movie is so hilarious with Cha Tae Hyun (My Sassy Girl Movie)as the leading male. Even so, I paid more attention to the kid as he was totally a good actor. I just could not forget the way he smirks at his grandfather (Chae Tae Hyun).

Ow yearh~~ Finally finished all the reports and presentations. . .Sigh~~ Very tiring to do so as I contributed a lot and made most of the presentation slides. This week I am supposed to know my course grades on 5 subjects. However, some of the lecturers have not finished marking up the papers and I do understand that. Marking papers is a torture for them, looking at different handwrittings, rubbish answers, etc. Hahaha! So far my grades are quite ok, but not up to my satisfaction.

Having a big headache for making a decision!!

A decision is not always easy to be made. Sometimes you may need longer time to think about the pros and cons of the matter as well as the opportunity cost. Well. . .I just went through this problem too.

As a student, I am supposed to look for an internship placement which will take place from 9th of September 2009 - 18th of December 2009. I had sent both my application letter as well as resume to approximately 15 companies. However, due to the economic downturn, only seven of them had replied to invite me for interviews. Soon after, I was short-listed by Company A and even signed the contract. And guess what. . .A week later, I received a call from Company B, which I had been waiting for!!! I had sent my application about three months ago and the HR Department just invited me for an interview!!! It sounded crazy for me!!! As I was too impulsive, I turned down the offer, saying that I was already selected by another company. But I called the HR Department back to arrange the details of my interview after being influenced by JX's suggestion. I was thinking that even if the Company B would not select me, I would still be contented as at least I made an effort.

After going for an interview at Company B, my desire to get in to the company became stronger. And I never imagined that I was informed to be short-listed at Company B in the following week. But the problem was. . .I HAD SIGNED A CONTRACT WITH COMPANY A!!!!!! Signing the contract means you have to implement whatever listed on the agreement. If one termintaes a contract, he or she may be sued by the company or may have to pay a sum of money. Besides, I concerned about the reputation of my school. Most of my buddies and one lecturer in charge encouraged me to give up on Company B but I just could not bring myself to do so as I saw Company B as an opportunity for me. An opportunity will not come for the second times, thus I must grab it!! I wanted to learn something new, have an experience to work in office (back-house) and get challenging projects. Besides, Company B is known to run a big project now and become the most expecting resort to be completed in 2010. There is no reason for me to turn down this opportunity unless I am a fool!!

Thus, I made a risky decision by sending an email to Company A and asked for their advices. I was so surprised that the HR Department respected my decision and even wished me a good luck. Hip Hip Hooraayyy!!!

How I spent my mid-term break holiday

I spent my tiring one week mid-term break by doing five projects bit by bit, having daily online discussions, checking my group members' task and searching articles every single day!!! This is not the holiday that I expected, but no choice. I have been feeling frustrated as I could not find Econs article on topic 3 until today. The article itself must be dated after April 2009. Aigoo. . .jong mal mi chwo so~~~

Thus, I chose some refreshing methods by dating, watching movies [Dance, Subaru!, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past and Land of Lost] and playing online games [currently addicted to Pet Society and Barn Buddy].

Ok, let's talk about my SIP progress now. Last Saturday, I attended the job career fairs for interns at campus. There were hotels, DMC company, travel agency and F&B, but I were only interested in hotels. Therefore, I filled in the application forms of Swissotel Merchant Court, Shangrila Rasa Sentosa and Sentosa Resort and Spa. I went there to listen to their presentation and go for interviews, wearing full business attire, means black suit + shirt + black skirt + black high heels. Hate wearing heels for the whole day!! Then I joined my indo groups for lunch at Harbour Front Food Junction.

I currently bought " a fake bread" sold at Action City. . .or City Action?? I do not remember the name of the shop. Anyway. . .it is a small bread that can be used to release your anger [you can squueze it using your entire power, it will not get torn]. But I did not buy that for the anger purpose, it is too cute. Haha! You can write or draw your message to anyone using its speial pen with strawberry, vanilla and chocolate flavours. So, when JX wanted to buy one for me, I suggested him to write his message for me and I would buy one more, doing the same thing so it became more meaningful. We even bought a white pouch to cover the bread so that it will not get damaged as we intended to hang it on our bags. These are how the breads look like after being drawn :

Yearh. . .Tomorrow I will be going to fetch my mom at Harbour Front, shop and dine with her and fetch my bro at Changi Airport at 10pm. He finally came back to Singapore from Sydney.

According to the plan, I will go back to Batam for one day on 17th of July with mom and bro, and go to Jakarta [for the very first time since I was born in Indonesia], visitting my grandpa in funeral as I missed the opportunity to send him off for the last time due to mid-term tests. Not familiar with Jakarta at all, not sure where to live with [father's 2nd brother or mother's youngest bro] and oso not sure who is going to fetch me and bro at Hang Nadim Airport [my cousin or mother's youngest bro].

In these few days, I still could not accept the fact that my paternal grandpa had already gone, he is no longer here. The cause of his death was finally known. It was said that grandpa was sleeping on a massage chair while the lamp in the kitchen was still on. He passed away while sleeping. Honestly speaking, it was odd. But there are a few number of similar cases happened in this world. At least, I believe that grandpa would not feel very painful when he passed away.

It was very painful that I missed the precious opportunity to send off my grandpa for the last time due to mid-term tests. My last Principles of Economics mid-term test finished on Wednesday, at 4pm, while grandpa's cremation began on that day at 1pm in Jakarta. Those grandchildren and daughter of my grandpa that stayed in overseas managed to talk to him with the help of my uncles in Jakarta. They put the phone on my grandpa's ear and let them talked for the last time. But I did not get the chance to do that. Nobody informed me. My parents thought that I would not know what to talk to my grandpa. That kind of excuse really annoyed me and made me upset. They thought I am still a child,who always ask them what to say to my grandpa during his birthday and Chinese New Year using mandarin. Oh My God. . .That was the only last chance for me to talk with grandpa. . .It just hard for me to accept my dad's apology. I am also a part of the family. Well. . .Looks like I can only blame the wrong timing of my mid-term tests.

It never appeared in my mind before that one of my family members would pass away. I was talking on the phone with Zexsen and few minutes later, my paternal grandma came to my room and said : "Cindy. . .What to do?? Grandpa has passed away. . . ." She kept crying and hardly took a breath. I was afraid that she might faint. We had no idea at all what was the cause of my grandpa's death. My uncle suddenly brought the bad news over the phone. After one hour try to called all the family members from Jakarta,Batam and Surabaya, we finally knew a bit what was going on. It was found that nobody was around when my granpa was about to pass away. . .He was at my uncle's apartment in Jakarta when my uncle found his body. According to the doctor, there was no injuries all over my grandpa's body. It was probably due to heart- attack. Even so, my grandpa has no heart-attack before. I felt heartache when my grandma kept crying. She told me that grandpa had make a promise to call her the next day. And the saddest thing is. . .Grandma was unable to see him for the last time. No last words from him. . .he was gone like that. . .It must be very painful for grandpa when he could not find anybody in the house to help him. I could not hide my feelings when i was folding grandpa's clothes. It was too sudden. I did not see him for more than 3 months and now he has already gone. . .Suddenly no mood to study for the upcoming mid-term test on Monday and Wednesday.
Grandpa, please rest in peace. . .I will never forget how you have been treating me well. . .Love you, grandpa!!

Stressful and Tough Semester

In this current semester, I have been studying 6 subjects. And I realised that my weakest subject is Principles of Economics. Though I had learned this subject in Senior High School before, the materials is totally different!! A lot of peculiar curves came out on those lecture notes. But I am not going to give up as the upcoming mid-term tests is getting nearer, on 1st of June (Organisational Behaviour) and 3rd of June (Principles Of Economics). And as usual, there are projects too, 5 projects altogether.

Not only those things that became my worries, but there is one more thing called SIP (Student Internship Progamme) which I will have to take for 15 weeks, starting from 10 September 2009. The list of the SIP companies has come out one month ago. And so far, I only sent my application letter as well as resume to 5 companies (Resort World, Gallery Hotel, Holiday Inn Hotel, Orchard Hotel and Jet Quay). However, it did not turn out well.
- Resort World kept asking me to wait. I have been waiting for about three weeks.
- Orchard Hotel offerd me a job in F&B Department instead of Front Desk Department. That was really annoyed me. It is clearly stated on the SIP list that the hotel is supposed to offer us a training programme at Front Desk. But the HR department said, only F&B job available for interns.
- Gallery Hotel and Holiday Inn Hotel had a change of heart all of a sudden. They did not accept interns.

In conclusion, I have a big disappointment as well as bad impressions towards those three hotels. They were just wasting our time to write and send our application letter and resume.

33 Auction Event

Last week, I saw a job opportunity announcement attached on the school notice board. It was written that 10 people were needed for the auction event, conducted by 33 Auction at Regent Hotel. And the selected people would get $150 pay in 3 days (1st of May - 3rd of May) job. Thus, I sent an email to give my full name as well as my school admission number to the tutor, Ms.Daga. We were then told to go to the company to be interviewed, at Eunos, very far away from the city. 12 students from my school applied for this job, but only 5 people (Me, Irene, Hendra, Sue and Kelvin)were selected. The rest of the people came from Rusell Design School. I thought I would not get selected as some of us did not go through interview. We came in a big group of 10. As a result, we were only asked to fill the form and went back. It was less than 20 minutes. However, I got the sms few days later that told me to be at Regent Hotel on 1st of May from 10am-8pm and wear black long sleeve shirt, black pants and black shoes.

I almost gave up that job as it was very tiring to stand there for 8 hours!! We did not have things to do. We just paid for watching the 200 plus of paintings and sculptures as guets were not allowed to touch them. If something goes wrong with the paintings and sculptures, we would probably be asked to take responsibility. . .SCARY!! People asked us about the meaning of the paintings, regulations to purchase the paintings, the certain paintings by some famous artists, etc. . .But we had no idea at all about them. What we did was immediately called the two specialists of the auction event. It was a rare experience though. I went to the toilet many times before the event began as my job was to shout "bidding" when the auctioner could not see people raising their hands. Soon after, I got backache, standing in the ballroom from 1.30 - 6 pm. Ckckck. . .

Spending Salary Extravagantly

Yearh!! I took revenge on shopping recently!! People went back to their home countries and had a wonderful holiday, while I spent my time working at a Japanese Restaurant and earned $800. Fair enough! I had been long to change my N81 mobile phone earnestly. But was baffled by several alternatives, LG Viewty KU990, Samsung F480 or Samsung Pixon. I had compared these mobile phones from time to time, looking at the design, colour and most importantly, the megapixel. Each of them has pros and cons. So, I finally chose LG Viewty KU990 and sold my N81. The employee told me that I could trade-in my N81 and got $200. But was reduced to $10, the moment he knew I bought it in Indonesia as I had no warranty card from Singapore. He then later reduced another $10 when he saw the condition of my key pads. They were hideous enough to see due to its sliding design. So, it was sold at $180. The price for LG Viewty itself is $420 plus $10 to upgrade the size of the memory card from 1GB to 2GB. To cut in short, I only spent $250.

Few days before, there was a sale at Takashimaya and I just could not bring myself to let go the Guess Bag the moment I saw it. Again! Spent $129 without thinking so much. My buddies also supported me to purchase it. . .

And today, I had a half-day date with Jessie at Far East. My sole aim was to purchase a black and long sleeve shirt for the upcoming auction event, which will be held from 1st-3rd of May at Regent Hotel. I was selected to work there but not sure about the job descriptions yet. But in the end, i bought another outfit and vest (1 set) for $90. Ckckck. . .

Waaah. . .I just realised that I did not post any entries up to now, such a long time!! The good news is. . .I had already resigned from Mr.Curry and decided to live back as a normal student again. Haha! From what I have heard, 3rd semester is the hardest one, so I decided to focus on my study first. In addition to, I want to retire from serving people!! There are many things happened that I could not put up, either with customers or colleagues. Therefore, I had made up my mind and handed in my resignation letter.

Today is the beginning of my 3rd semester. There are six subjects altogether to be learned. But the scariest subject amongst all is Lodging Systems Operations. The lecturer mentioned that 17 students had failed this subject from the last semester. Thus, they have to repeat the subject again. OMG!! Seems like I have to burn the midnight oil when the mid term break in June ends as class tests and submission of projects will take time on the same weeks.

I currently addicted to prawning!! ♥JX♥ and I went to Bottle Park for prawning last Friday. It was so fun! But we had difficulties finding the location as it was our first time to get there. The park is very near to Khatib MRT, just 15 minutes walk from it. We paid $14 for an hour to try, but the uncle gave us additional free one more hour. What a kind man! He even taught us how to do it correctly. Unfortunately, we were too lousy that we could only get three prawns in 2 hours! Haha!

♥JX♥ and I went to dine at my current workplace, Mr.Curry, for lunch yesterday. I was a little bit shy the moment I was sitting down as my colleagues suddenly came out from the kitchen to see how my boyfriend looked like. They made me feel awkward actually. . .And since I have been working there for some time, it did not take me a lot of time to choose. Haha. . .I jotted down our orders on a piece of paper and asked my colleague, Celyne, to key in them. However. . . .I accidentally wrote wrong the level of the spiciness. I gave ♥JX♥'s minded beef and potato omelette with EXTRA SPICY!!! I did not do it on purpose. I was too nervous perhaps. . .He had problem with his tongue, yet, I ordered extra spicy for him. . .What a bad girlfriend I am. Hahaha!! We ordered two main course, one dessert and two beverages.

I am currently feel annoyed with one of my colleagues there. She has been getting more and more ridiculous and impolite that made me loathe her. I had tried to endure with her once again. Remember the birthday cake incident? She was the person, whom I mentioned as "B". Last Friday, we were assigned at the same station. When I was about to lead the five customers to their table, she dragged me away and replaced me. Fine!! I did not reprimand her and made a big scene during operation time. So i just walked away. Second time. . .She asked me to help her refill the iced green tea for table 22. When I was about to take the iced green tea, table 10 wanted to order dessert and called me. I saw my colleagues were all busy, so I took table 10's order first and it did not take me 2 minutes to key in the order. But what happened? She scolded me for being silent and did not tell her that I could not refill the iced green tea. Am I your slave? Come on. . .Everybody was so busy. Customers understood this situation too. You were not the busiest person there. Sigh~~~

Life As A Waitress

So far, I have been working at Mr.Curry for twelve times. Each week, I work for three times. Thus, I am still considered as a new staff and making mistakes is inevitable. But somehow, I realise that I am a person that can not afford to make mistakes. I want everything goes smooth and perfect like the way I want.

Take for example, the birthday cake incident that happened a couple of days ago. There was a big group of people dining at Mr.Curry and asked one my colleagues,"A", to help him keep a birthday cake. Soon after having their meals, the same guy asked me to return the birthday cake. So I went to the pantry and told my another colleague,"B", to pass it to me. "B" immediately opened the box and put the available candles on the cake. When "A" saw it, she asked us whether we should serve it or just return it to the guest. We were baffled and decided to ask "A" to confirm with the guest again. Therefore, I went outside and did my own tasks as it was very busy that Friday. A lot of people were still queuing to dine in. Two minutes later, "A" suddenly came out with a birthday cake and candles on it. The big group was startled for a moment. And guess what? The assistant manager approached the three of us and seemed irritated. It is true to say that I was involved in it, but should you put the blame on me just because I am a new staff by saying that I did not give proper information? I was totally pissed off!!! No mood to talk out of the blue. He then said, "Do not take today's incident into your heart," when I was cleaning the table. Honestly speaking, I was about to cry. Haierh. . .

That's a life as a waitress. I could not sleep well and kept thinking again and again. Besides the operation time, most of the colleagues there are quite friendly. So i decided to keep working to kill my one month holiday time as I really have nothing to do during this holiday. My buddies went back to their own home country and ~♥~JX~♥~ has already started his three months Student Internsip Program from Monday to Friday. I am very glad that sometimes he comes to pick me up after working (mostly at 10 pm) and buy a meal for me, or else, he always calls me to have a chat until I reach home. Thank you, bao bei!!

My first visit to Wild Wild Wet

I firstly came to Wild Wild Wet at Downtown East with ~♥~JX~♥~ last week, wearing T-Shirt and short pant inside the theme park. It was pretty fun actually, besides the arrogant male staffs that kept blowing their whistle to warn the guests without using proper verbiages and the bad weather that forced the operation to be stopped for 2 times [each time for one hour] as it was raining the whole day. In my opinion, the most exciting attraction is Slide Up, which made me hysterically shout for few times as we were plunging down from the four storey ramp by sitting on the raft. But the poor thing is. . .guests are asked to carry the raft to the four storey by themselves. In fact, the raft is quite haeavy!!

New Job, New Unique Experience

Congrats me pah~~~ Hahaha. . .I finally found a new job, as a waitress(again), under Waraku Holdings, which is a Japanese company. Waraku Holdings has four restaurants and eleven outlets in Singapore. The restaurants are Waraku (Japanese Casual Dining), Pasta de Waraku (Japanese Casual Pasta and Cafe Restaurant), Waraku de Gohan (Japanese Teppan Casual Dining)and Mr.Curry (Japanese Curry and Sweet House).
Xinting and I were assigned to work at Mr.Curry, which is the first outlet at Central, Clarke Quay.

Today we went for training from 11 am - 4 pm. Honestly speaking, it was a little boring as we were asked to sit in the meeting room for 4 hours!! Luckily, we were given one hour for lunch. Xinting and I went to Borders (my previous workplace) as it is the nearest place, just next to the Waraku Holdings company. Love Borders' Gamberoni Bistro Spaghetti and Mashed Potato!! Yummy!! Haha. . .We squandered our first salary by having lunch there (we were paid by attending the training).

It was an amazing opportunity offered by our campus, The Tourism Academy @ Sentosa, to pay a visit to Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship conducted on 31st of January. The 4 hours visit was truly exciting as we got a chance to look at different types of room available there, including the most costly one called "The Royal Suite." Besides that, we were given a treat to have lunch in its fine dining restaurant called "Romeo & Juliet." By now, I believe that the idiom "there is no free lunch in this world" may not correct all the time. Haha!!

As there were four classes altogether, we were divided into four groups according to our surnames. I followed the first group, which was under Mr.Terence Lou. Overall, I felt excited to observe everything on the cruise. Hoping for a miracle to board the cruise again, for a holiday. . .Hoho. . .

My Unforgettable Three Weeks Deployment

I counted every single day in these past three weeks, hoping to finish the last subject as soon as possible!! I studied Customer Service Excellence in the morning from 08.15 - 10.30. Then I quickly walked to Sentosa Monorail and alighted at Vivo City, walking again to Harbour Front MRT Exit D to board on ONE°15 Marina Club bus at 10.45 sharp!! Otherwise, I have to wait for another bus, which will be coming in every 30 minutes.

Yearh. . .I was assigned to work at ONE°15 Marina Club from 11.45 -5 pm starting from 28th of January to 13th of February. On the first day, my partner, Zhao Xinting, who was supposed to report with me, was sick. Thus, she took MC and did not come. I was extremely nervous to go alone. The moment I stepped in to the lobby, a malaysian guy, who turned up to be my colleague, approached me to ask whether he could help me. Then I was brought to Human Resouce Office to meet the director, Mr Jimmy Png. He sent me to work at Front Desk as Guest Relation Officer under Ms.Pamela (The Manager of Front Desk at ONE°15 Marina Club). She brought me to get my uniform (a blue dress which made me look like a nurse), belt, heels, name tag as well as locker key.

As ONE°15 Marina Club is a luxurious place, not many people are able to enjoy the facilities. Only rich members can be seen. Thus, I did not have ample work to do. Here is the list of my tasks :
- Answered calls and transfered them to other departments such as members concierge, recreation office, catering sales office, Imperial Treasure Chinese Restaurant and Latitude Bistro).
- Showed the directions of ONE°15 Marina Club's facilities
- Booked taxi (64542222)
- Carried guests' luggages to their room (1x and received $2 tip)
- Sold ONE°15 Marina Club's merchandise (1x)
- Brought the guests upstairs to see the different types of accommodation available at ONE°15 Marina Club (1x and I was proud that I was able to give details as well as answer their questions. Hohoho. . .)

There,I met several nice colleagues like Chris Cheah, Silvia Huang, Maureen, Jazz and Irwan, that could get along with Xinting and me. Many thanks to them for teaching us a lot of things, especially Chris. We will not forget how you helped us to change our appraisal marks. We feel grateful for that.

Overall, I am satisfied working at ONE°15 Marina Club as I gained an unforgettable experience compared to my other classmates, who mostly had nasty experience with their deployment (especially SLG!!). In addition to, meals are provided for the staffs there. I did not have to spend money for lunch. One more benefit is that, I did not have to bring along my uniform everyday unlike my other classmates. The laundry staffs washed it for us. I just collected the uniform and put it back again into the basket before I left. Hohoho. . .

One thing that I could not tolerate was : TYING MY HAIR!!!
Every morning I had to wake up at 5.30 and bound up my hair like a "LITTLE NYONYA." Gel and spray caused me hair loss. Hate it!!!

The X'mas turned into a nightmare in overnight

My one week holiday in Surabaya became a nightmare just because of MARTABAK!!!! For those who do not know what martabak is, it is similar to roti prata. I thought I would spend a lot of money on clothes and accessories, eat my favourite food as much as i can there and have a lot of fun. But the reality was, it did not go as smooth as what I thought. My family bought martabak Holland at Manyar Ketoarjo on Christmas Day and i started to feel nausea in the middle of the night. I had food poisoning!!!! The next day when I woke up in the morning, my whole body became very weak, i could not see clearly, felt dizzy, no appetite and kept vomitting. So I stayed at home for 4 days, watching TV the whole day. On the fifth day, I decided to hang out with my family as I could not stand doing nothing at home. But I bought nothing. Poor me!! I must think twice to go to Surabaya again in the future!! No martabak Holland!!!!

During the holiday, my parents and I lived at my uncle's house at Kenjeran. In front of his house, there is a warung called Bakso 431. My father and I tried the bakso as everyone said it was nice. That was my first time eating in a warung. Haha. . .

And of course I would not forget to meet my cousin, Devina. She brought me to Pakuwon Mall and Tunjungan Plaza in one day. She also brought me to Hachi Hachi, a japanese restaurant, for dinner. The sushi there was extremely nice, different style from Sushi Tei and Sakae Sushi.

T03 Execution Day

Yearh. . .Finally finished this subject!!! There are three more subjects to go (Problem Solving Methodology, Professional Communication Skills & Customer Service Excellence). It was very tiring to wake up at 5 am everyday and everyone seemed happy on that last day.

Our class chose "Christmas" as the theme of the restaurant. We were so busy to decorate the restaurant with colourful lamps and christmas tree, prepare our own menus, choose the mocktails to increase our sales and write the proposal.

I was chosen to be the host on that day, wearing weird leaves on my head and a white dress like an angel. Silly angel to be precise. And the worst part, I accidentally lost my temper when my Burmese friend forced me to wear a childish butterfly wings, which she had bought several days ago. The reason why I refused to wear it was simply because it was awful, childish and did not match with my costume.

My tasks were quite challenging as I had to control the turnover tables, guide the guests to their tables, decide whether I should let the guests in when there was not enough portions, adjust the time when the guests came late, etc. Everything went smooth until the walk-in guests came to dine without making reservation. Since the portions were not enough, I had no choice but to reject them politely. However, I was told to allow them in by my instructor, Ms.Daga. She told me that she would give up her portion together with her guest's portion to those guests. But it did not solve the problem, the portions were still not enough. And this caused a little bit misunderstanding between culinary team and service team. Finally, culinary team was able to solve the problem by adjusting the amount of the food. It was a sigh of relief.

After the whole busy day, we could finally enjoy a small x'mas party in the restaurant, together with culinary team and the instuctors. Chef Fan bought a delicious chocolate cake for us and we got drinks for free, prepared by Mr.Lee. Besides that, we were asked to queue to get our exchanged presents from a big plastic bag. I got a Santa Claus candle light!!!

There was not so much change with the situation which I had encountered 3 weeks ago in Culinary Science & Kitchen Operations. In these 3 weeks learning module, I learned how to give an excellent service as well as time management through F&B Service Operations lesson. Our class ran the restaurant in the school which called "Restaurant In The Square or RITS." RITS is a fine dining restaurant and sells two set lunch menu from 11.30-1.45 [Monday & Thursday opens at 12.00].

On 20th of November, Our lecturer, Miss Daga, sent us to work at Creative Eateries's event at Expo. Our class were divided into two groups, one group went on Thursday and another group went on Friday, as we still had to open the restaurant.

It was a good experience to work at off-site catering, which served buffet menu as we did not have to use a lot of verbiages and the work was very simple. We were also paid for $10 per hour.

Execution Day

Time flies so fast!!!
We had an execution day on Friday, which was the last day in the kitchen. As I mentioned earlier, execution day is a project for the whole class. In this case, teamwork is the most essential part that we should have. Without it, we were unable to finish our project. However, there were not many people contribute in the written proposal. As a result, we, as the leaders, had to burn midnoght oil for a couple of days. Honestly speaking, I was starting to get frustrated as well as dejected, as I had to do a lot of things, such as duty roster, minutes of meeting, recipe of two main courses, market list and recipe of costing sheet.

The operation was not run smoothly at the beginning, but later we were able to control the situation. Since we were doing everything by ourseleves, we got a big headache to handle our mistakes.
First, the teriyaki sauce become very spicy as my friend, Henny, added 600 ml of japanese sake into the sauce. She was supposed to add 300 ml only. Second, the taste of gomaae (spinach in sesame dressing) became salty.
Third, my japanese rice was uncooked and the colour turned brown instead of white. I guessed I had put too much dashi powder. Hahaha. . .

Since it was the last day in the kitchen, we took a lot of photographs.

Summary of my 2nd week in hell's kitchen

Why do I say so?
Because I spent my five days in main course team with Chef Derrick. He is not fierce actually, but main course is the most difficult thing to prepare. We were given certain time to finish the mis en place [the preparation to make a dish, such as cut vegetables, preheat oven, etc] and very busy during operation time, especially when a big group came. We had to serve the food together at the same time. The food as well as the plate must be warm. So what we did usually was, put the plates inside the combination oven and put the food under food warmer. During those five days, I got a chance to become tournant [relief cook] and aboyeur [kitchen caller]. Most of the time, tournant's job is the same as aboyeur's job, which I had to control the kitchen during operation time. To be exact, my job requires shouting!!
When a new order comes, i shout:"New order, one veal cheek and one chicken!"
When the guest wants to have the main course, i shout :"Pick up, one veal cheek and one chicken!"
And my team has to reply me :"Yes or sometimes, Yes, chef!"

In this menu, my team was in charge of making Veal Cheek Stew. As I was the Aboyeur and Tournant, I did not have to prepare the mis en place, but I still had to assist my other members. My job was to garnish the final product, which is called plate presentation.

We had the extra food after the operation time everyday. The chefs usually allowed us to finish the extra food on marble table after we had sanitized the whole kitchen, around 03.30 pm.

Besides cooking, we were also required to learn the basic knowledge [theory] about culinary science. There were two tests altogether. I got 40 out of 50 for the first test. Second test. . .I am not really satisfied with the result, I got 38 out of 50. I did not study anything for it as I had to do my written proposal project. I did not get enough sleep for few days. That was my sacrification. So. . .I have decided that I will not agree to be a leader anymore!!! I was chosen to become a sous chef for main course team during execution day, which is the last day in the kitchen. Chef Derrick and Chef Petrine would not be there for us. We have to run the show during operation time, order the ingredients and cook the dishes by ourselves.

Though it is very tiring to work in the kitchen, I have begun to enjoy my days, cooking and cutting vegetables.

I got a chance to be a sous chef on Thursday, which I had to lead my team to prepare Minestrone Soup with Pesto. The preparation to make this soup does not take a lot of time and easy to prepare. I think I have more interest to cook now. Haha. . .

Yesterday was a big day for us as we were having proficiency test. We were asked to cut vegetables with the following sizes :
onion - chopped
carrot - 1/2 Batonette [6mm X 6mm X 60mm] and 1/2 Brunoise [4mm X 4mm X 4mm]
celery - Fine Julienne [2mm X 2mm X 60mm]
tomato - concasse

as well as cook Pilaf Rice. However, my pilaf rice was a little bit salty as I added the seasoning on last minute without measuring the amount properly. We were only given 1 hour and 15 minutes to complete those two tasks. I was afraid that I screwed up my test that I accidentally slashed my two fingers. As a result. . .My two fingers are attached with hansaplast now. Besides that, I also forgot to use my side towel when I took out my pilaf rice from combination oven. Clumsy me!!!

Next week I will proceed to main course team with Chef Derrick. Goodbye appetizer. . .

And finally. . .yesterday I could have a sumptous dinner at korean restaurant with
~♥~JX~♥~ and my hun, Jessie. We have been planning to go there, but always fail to do so, due to our packed schedule. Actually I felt a little bit nausea on the taxi as the driver could not drive properly. But once I reached there, my appetite appeal gradually increased!! Hahaha. . .We ordered three dishes with the free side dishes.

Warh. . .Finally. . .A week of introduction to the kitchen and restaurant service had passed. Can heave a sigh of relief. . .Fiiuurh. . .
However, Grooming check still exists!!!
Today is the first operation of kitchen as well as our school restaurant, RITS [Restaurant in the Square]. In other words, there is no more demo frm our chefs. We have to do it by ourselves.
For the week of 27th I have been assigned to make appetizer with my team. What kind of appetizer did we make today?

The 1st Day in the Kitchen

Today is my first day to return to the school and start my 1.2 semester in the kitchen. What a long day. . .

First of all, I woke up at 5 to catch the first bus to Sentosa at 6.50. I extremely felt embarrassed as I noticed that a lot of people were looking at me, carrying a lot of things [chef uniform, kitchen shoes and kitchen tool set] on bus and MRT.

Evelyn and I were trying to walk quickly to the restroom once we arrived at the school. We spent about 20 minutes to make ourselves well-prepared. I was very cross to manage my hair as baby hair is not allowed to be seen in the kitchen.

Grooming check was conducted at 07.50 am by Chef Derrick and Chef Patrine. They were checking our nails, kitchen tools set, uniform, apron, socks and towel. The worst part was I forgot to collect my name tag on last Friday. Luckily, Mr.Tan did not punish me. Fiurrh. . .

What did I learn today at school?
- Cut vegetables in different sizes
- Made vinaigrette and mayonnaise sauce for salad dressing
- Learned all the equipments in the restaurant
- Handled reservations in the restaurant through the phone
- Understood the different kinds of grooming in FnB industry

I am totally worried about my upcoming test on this Wednesday. We will be asked to cut the vegetables based on the size chosen by Mr.Tan. I am going to buy the ingredients in the supermarket tomorrow.

Halloween Horrors

To my surprise, it was not as scary as I thought. Hahaha!! My excitement was gradually gone the moment I was sitting on its trem.

First of all, I saw the Halloween Horrors advertisement at River Valley bus stop. It was written that the activity is held at Night Safari from 10th October until the first of November. Since I never join any Halloween Party before, it increased my curiosity to browse Night Safari website. Some horror characters are shown on it that made me even more eager to go there.

Unfortunately, I could only wait for the last hour trem as there were so many people who had made reservation earlier than ~♥~JX ~♥~ and I. So. . .we decided to walk around first until 9.30 pm. Yes. . we waited there for about three hours.

Back to My School Life

Yea~~ Yesterday I finally went back to school to attend the two hours briefing and collect four uniforms [two sets for kicthen and another two sets for restaurant service].

The briefing started from 10.00 until 12.00 pm. We were then brought to the kitchen to see the environment. The chef wanted us to memorise all the stuffs inside the blue box such as wooden spoon, egg slicer, etc, the use of three different kinds of detergents as well as teach us the proper way to change the trash bag.

Meeting the freshmen from dhtb 9 was the next activity. They were asked to find us [seniors from dhtb 8] based on the name lists that they had got earlier by asking us one by one. To be honest, I did not like some of them as they did not know the basic manner to say "Thank You." So I did not bother myself to see them. Haha. . .

And finally. . .the most crucial activity was collecting our uniforms!! It really drove me crazy as the those stuffs were so heavy. An idea to take a cab crossed on my mind all of a sudden. Haha. . .But I tried to endure until at Clarke Quay MRT. I smsed ~♥~JX~♥~ to assist me.

Congratulate me, guys!!
I just found out from Jessie [my best buddy] that my first week in semester 1.2, starting from 20th October, will be in the kitchen. . .T_T Doushitee~~~

Another shocking news, I am not in the same class with her. It is beyond my expectation. I thought we could be together this time. Can you imagine? We have been friends for about six years and a half, yet we were only in the same class for twice [junior high school grade 2 and senior high school grade 2].

So far, I only knew that I am in the same class with Evelyn and Irene [both are my friends from senior high school]. It looks like I have a fate with Evelyn. Hahaha. . .We were in the same class in the last semester 1.1.

Back to the kitchen story. . .
I am very scared to imagine myself cooking in that horrible place. I never try to fry egg before. So what am I capable at? Making korean pancake and instant noodle. And eerrr. . that was about one year ago.
Orh my gosh~~ I need somebody to drag me out from this reality!

Below is my kitchen tools set, which I borrowed from ♥JX♥ yesterday. The whole set is very cosy, approximately $88. Since I am going to use it for three weeks only, there is no point to purchase it. Right? Haha. . .

I have been working at Borders Bistro for one 1 month and 15 days. I am glad that I never break its dishes so far. Hahaha. . .
I recently found a good friend called Lenna, who has been working at Borders Bistro for about two months. We can get along very well as we are both from Indonesia, yet we speak Chinese most of the time. She just learned to be a bartender and made me try three different kinds of drinks such as watermelon-pineapple juice, lime juice and ice lemon tea. Honestly speaking, her lime juice was quite tasteless. Hahaha. . .Luckily, I did not get a stomachache the day after that. Fiurrh. . .

Yes, I have been staying in Singapore for about five months to further my study. Everything seemed a little bit unfamiliar to me as I have got new friends from different countries [mostly from China and Myanmar], new school life, new different ways of study, new lecturers, and a new boyfriend. Hahaha. . .

I chose to study at Tourism Academy@ Sentosa, which is under Temasek Poly as I am extremely interested in that course. And now. . .I can proceed to the next semester, which is semester 1.2. Below is my result in semester 1.1 :

It has been a pleasurable experience to work there since it is my first time of working. I have learnt a lot of things include the setting of utensils, different kind of pasta, how to change the tablecloth and most importantly. . . I have learnt how to be patient to handle some fussy customers.
